In this Motion^R tutorial, we will create a Save the Date background video, which will be sold on a microstock site. Since it is sold as a background animation, the customer has the option to email the .mov file as is or add text.

The Graphics

We will be importing a layered Photoshop^R file, containing a silver Bokeh background, his and hers top hats and a golden top hat icon. The Bokeh background was created in Photoshop and the top hats were copied from Illustrator in to the Photoshop file.

The Motion Project

As of now, the HD 1080 resolution is still the most popular. So let's start a new Motion project with the Broadcast preset and a 8 seconds duration.

1. Change the top layer name from Project to the name of your project.
   
   
2. Change the Group layer name from Group to "graphics".
   
   
3. Click File - Import and All Layers to import the layered .psd file.
   
   

We will keep the Bokeh background on screen throughout the video but the top hats will appear using the Motion Path behavior. We will also add some text with a Text-Sequence behavior. Let's break down the timing.

1. The bride's top hat will begin outside the left of the screen and move to the center. The motion path will expand from :10 to 2:00 seconds on the Timeline.
   
   
2. The groom's top hat will begin outside the right of the screen at 1:00 second and end at the center at 2:15 seconds.
   
   
3. The main text "It's a Wedding" will begin fading in at the beginning of the Timeline and end at 1:00 seconds.
   
   
4. The "Save the Date" text will fade in starting at 2:15 and ending 3:15 seconds.
   
   
5. For the transition to the next screen, we will move a semi transparent overlay across the screen from right to left. It will enter the screen at 4:00 seconds and end outside the left of the screen at 5:15 seconds.
   
   
6. At 5:25 seconds, we will begin the second scene by adding two vertical lines, which will frame an area that will display the optional text.
   
   

The user can use the video, as is, in an email, YouTube or wedding site. There are also several apps that will import the .mov clip, such as Motion, Final Cut Pro and iMovie, so that the user can add the optional text at the end of the video.
